We are aware that since the 10th April there have been a number of incidents at Ruato Bay where anglers have been approached and allegedly intimidated by persons who have made demands to see the anglers fishing licences. Police are investigating this with assistance of Fish & Game.

The good news for the weekend is that the rains have brought some impressive runs of brown trout into the Lake Rotorua tributaries. The last two evenings have seen 144 fish through the Ngongotaha trap, the biggest a 5.1kg (11 ¼ lb) hen.
